The Sarah W. Stedman Nutrition and Metabolism Center is rapidly building a new program in basic science relating to nutrition and metabolic regulation. To date, eight faculty members have been recruited for this mission, with areas of interest ranging from micronutrient metabolism to metabolic regulatory mechanisms involved in chronic diseases and conditions such as aging, diabetes, obesity, and cancer. Further expansion is anticipated over the next two years, with an ultimate projected basic faculty size of 10 to 12 members. The research programs of each of the current basic science faculty is summarized under Faculty & Staff.
